Who provides the service

shortshort is operated by Arsène Huot, reachable at arsene.huot@gmail.com. The service turns a long video you provide into short vertical videos, using automated analysis, framing and captioning.

These terms are written in plain language so you can read them. They are the terms that apply.

Your account

You need an account to generate, save or publish. You are responsible for keeping your sign-in details private and for what happens under your account. Provide an email address you actually control, because it is the only way your account can be recovered or verified.

One person or one organisation, one account. You may not resell access to the service or share a single account across a team, since shared workspaces are not offered.

You can ask for your account to be deleted at any time by writing to the address above. The privacy page explains what is stored and how to reach it.

Your videos stay yours

You keep every right you already had in the videos you import and in the shorts produced from them. shortshort claims no ownership over them.

You grant shortshort only what is needed to run the service: storing your files, sending the parts required for analysis to the providers named on the privacy page, producing the shorts you ask for, and showing them back to you.

You confirm that you hold the rights to the videos you import, including rights in any music, footage or person appearing in them. Do not import material you are not allowed to use.

Publishing to the community

Publishing is a deliberate act and always optional. Your projects stay private until you publish them.

Publishing makes the source video, the shorts, the transcript and your display name visible to anyone, including search engines. By publishing you allow shortshort to display and distribute that project on the site for as long as it stays published.

You can unpublish at any time and the project leaves the community. Unpublishing cannot retrieve copies already downloaded by others, nor immediately clear search-engine caches. A project that breaks these terms may be unpublished without notice.

Plans, credits and payment

One credit covers one minute of source video sent for analysis, whatever number of shorts you cut from it. Credits are held when a generation starts and settled when it finishes. A generation that fails returns its credits.

Paid plans are Starter at €12 per month, Creator at €29 per month, Studio at €79 per month, or the annual price shown on the pricing page. Prices are in euros and include the monthly credits listed there. Credit top-ups are bought separately and are spent after your monthly allowance.

Payment is handled by Stripe. shortshort never receives or stores your card details. Credits accumulate and do not expire: what a renewal adds is on top of what you had left, so a hundred unused credits plus a monthly hundred and fifty make two hundred and fifty.

Changing plan is not self-service yet: write to the address above and it will be done for you. Moving up charges only the difference for the remainder of the period, and adds the credits that difference paid for. Moving down takes nothing away, and neither does cancelling: the credits you already hold stay yours.

Without a plan you can try the service on a limited free allowance, with a watermark on the exported video.

Cancelling and refunds

Cancel whenever you like, from the billing portal linked on your account page. Cancelling stops the next renewal. Your plan runs to the end of the period you already paid for, with everything it includes, and the credits you have left remain on your account afterwards.

Purchases are not refunded once the corresponding credits have been spent. If something went wrong on our side, write to the address above and it will be sorted out.

If you are a consumer in the European Union you have a right of withdrawal within fourteen days. Asking for immediate access means that right ends as soon as the service has been fully performed, which for a credit purchase means once those credits are spent.

What you may not do

Do not use the service to produce or publish material that is illegal, that infringes someone else's rights, that shows a person in a sexual or degrading way without their consent, or that is designed to harass or deceive.

Do not try to bypass the limits of your plan, extract credentials, overload the processing queue, or automate the service in ways that degrade it for others.

An account used this way can be suspended. Where the breach is serious or repeated, it can be closed without refund.

Availability and responsibility

shortshort is offered as it is. Automated analysis is imperfect by nature: framing, transcription and the choice of moments can be wrong, and you should review a short before publishing it anywhere.

The service can be interrupted for maintenance, or by a provider it depends on. Keep your own copy of any source video that matters to you, since no backup is promised beyond what is needed to run the service.

Nothing here removes rights the law gives you as a consumer. Beyond those, responsibility is limited to the amount you paid over the twelve months before the problem.

Changes to these terms

These terms can change as the service changes. The date at the top says when they were last updated. A change that materially affects a paid plan is announced by email before it takes effect, and you may cancel if you do not accept it.

French law applies, and the courts of France have jurisdiction, without removing the protections of the law of the country where you live.
