Cuts land on full sentences
A proposed short can stretch or shrink by up to 25% around your target length, so a 60-second target gives clips between 45 and 75 seconds that end where the speaker does.
This page describes the shortshort studio, the same one behind every tool on this site: one video file in, a set of separate 9:16 MP4s out. The AI reads the whole transcript, keeps the passages that finish their thought, and you check each cut before anything is rendered.

One upload takes an MP4, MOV or WebM of up to 3 hours, provided the file weighs 2 GB or less. A 2-hour recording that comes out heavier than that needs re-exporting on your side at a lower bitrate or a smaller resolution, not trimming.
A 90-minute file costs 90 credits whether you take 3 shorts or the Studio ceiling of 20. A new account starts with 60 credits and no card.
Four steps. About two minutes of your time.
No import from a YouTube or Vimeo link: the source has to be a file you upload.
No highlight reel: each short is its own MP4, and the shorts are not stitched into one condensed video.
shortshort accepts up to 3 hours per file, in MP4, MOV or WebM, as long as the file weighs 2 GB or less. When a long recording exceeds 2 GB, re-export it at a lower bitrate or resolution rather than trimming it.
As many as your shortshort plan allows, each on a different passage: Free stops at 3 shorts per video, Starter at 5, Creator at 10 and Studio at 20. A passage picked for one short is never reused in another from the same video.
120 credits, because shortshort charges 1 credit per minute of source regardless of how many shorts you take. Starter includes 240 credits a month for 12 EUR, Creator 800 for 29 EUR and Studio 3,000 for 79 EUR, all before VAT.
On Free and Starter, yes: rendering happens in a recent Chrome tab that stays open. On Creator and Studio the generation can run on the server in the background, and the shorts wait in your library when you return.
It is the full shortshort studio. You can edit by hand and export an MP4 without signing in; the AI selection needs an account, which comes with 60 free credits.
Until you export a short, yes: the source video and your drafts stay private, and the working copy used for the analysis is removed as soon as the analysis finishes. An exported short joins the public community by default, and its page shows the original video and the transcript with it. Every paid plan lets you keep shorts out of the community, for the whole account or one short at a time.
Free to try with 60 credits. Your source video stays yours; the shorts you export join the community, and a plan keeps them out of it.
