FOR B2B MARKETING TEAMS

Turn customer testimonials into shorts.

A reference customer gives you thirty minutes on camera once, and three of those minutes are the proof your whole funnel is short of. shortshort reads the transcript of that interview, keeps the passages where the customer names a result, holds the vertical frame on the person talking and prints every word on screen, so one shoot feeds the case study page, the ad account and the sales team at the same time.

A claim and its number, never separated

Proof lives in the second half of the sentence: from six weeks to nine days, from four tools to one. The transcript is read for passages that run all the way to that second half, and the cut is allowed to sit 25% either side of the length you asked for rather than land before the number is out.

The customer holds the frame

Testimonial shoots are wide: two cameras, an interviewer in the room, b-roll of the office between answers. The 9:16 crop sits on the face that is speaking and switches the moment the other person takes over, and a shot that holds both of them, or a screen on set, is kept entire instead of being cropped down to one side of the room.

The number gets the highlight

Every word is timed against the audio, and Impact prints the line in bold uppercase with your highlight colour behind the word the AI marks. Set that colour to your brand before you export and the figure reads first, for the viewer who never turns the sound on.

Out of the public gallery, before the first export

Shorts you export are published to the shortshort community gallery unless you turn that off. Any paid plan, from €12 a month for 240 credits, adds the switch to your account and applies it to everything you have already exported, which is usually what a signed release demands: the footage runs where you told the customer it would run.

How it works for customer testimonials

Five steps. About two minutes of your time.

  1. 01Drop the interview as it came off the card, MP4, MOV or WebM, up to 3 hours and 2 GB
  2. 02Ask for 6 clips of about 35 seconds, one per claim you want on record
  3. 03The transcript is read for passages where the customer names a result and finishes the thought
  4. 04The vertical crop stays on the customer, wide shots and product b-roll are kept whole
  5. 05Download the 1080 x 1920 MP4s for the case study page, the ad account and the reps

Suggested captions: Impact. A reference clip is judged on one number. Impact runs the whole sentence in bold uppercase and puts the highlight behind that number, so it is read before it is heard.

Questions people ask

How do I turn a customer testimonial video into short clips?

Upload the interview file, MP4, MOV or WebM, up to 3 hours and 2 GB. Pick how many clips you want, from 1 to 20 depending on your plan, and a target length between 15 and 90 seconds. shortshort transcribes the recording, selects the passages where the customer is specific about a result, crops each one to 9:16 on the person speaking and captions it word by word. You download them as 1080 x 1920 MP4 files.

How many clips can we get out of a 30-minute testimonial interview?

You decide the number, and five or six of about 35 seconds is a comfortable ask on a 30-minute interview, since only the passages where the customer says something concrete are worth keeping. The ceiling is set by the plan: 3 clips per video on the free tier, 5 on Starter, 10 on Creator, 20 on Studio. Asking for more does not cost more, because the bill counts minutes of source and not clips.

Our interviewer asks the questions off camera. Do they end up in the clips?

Sometimes, and on purpose: a short question that sets up the answer is treated as part of the same unit, while everything after the answer is dropped. If you want a clip to open on the customer's first word, move the in point of that passage in the studio and render it again.

Can we keep a customer's testimonial out of a public gallery?

Yes, on any paid plan. A short joins the shortshort community as soon as it renders, unless the setting in your account says otherwise, and that setting covers the shorts you exported last month as well as the next one. The recording you uploaded and any draft you never exported stay out of the gallery either way. Turn it on before the first export if the release form limits where the footage may appear.

We have 20 recorded testimonials sitting on a drive. What would it cost to clip them all?

One credit per minute of source, so twenty interviews of 30 minutes come to 600 credits, however many clips you ask for. That fits inside one month of Creator at €29, which carries 800 credits and allows up to 10 clips per video. The 60 credits given at sign-up cover the first two interviews, at 3 clips each and with a watermark on the export, before you pay anything.

A 31-minute testimonial interview, 6 shorts, one drop.

Free to try with 60 credits. Your source video stays yours; the shorts you export join the community, and a plan keeps them out of it.
