FOR HR AND EMPLOYER BRAND

Turn recruiting videos into shorts.

Six employees, four questions each, one meeting room booked for an afternoon: the footage is easy to get and hard to find a week to edit it. shortshort reads the transcript, keeps the answers that hold up alone, moves the 9:16 frame with the person answering and captions every word, so the afternoon ends as one clip per open role.

shortshort for recruiting videos: the short answer

Cut an afternoon of employee filming into vertical shorts, one answer per clip, framed on the face on screen and captioned word by word, ready for job posts.

Example with shortshort: a 45-minute filming session with six employees becomes 10 shorts of about 35 seconds, for 45 credits, from the Creator plan.

Why it fits recruiting videos

One complete answer per clip

The AI reads the transcript for answers that begin and end by themselves: why they joined, what a Tuesday looks like, what they thought the job was before they started. A clip holds one answer, sometimes joined from a few excerpts of the same interview, and it lands up to 25% over or under the length you asked for rather than leave a sentence unfinished.

Six employees, one file, the right face each time

Face tracking keeps the 9:16 crop on the employee on camera and cuts to the next face when the shot changes, so one recording of a whole session comes back as separate portraits. A recruiter asking from off camera leaves no second face to follow, and the frame stays on the employee.

The workshop, the lab and the open floor stay whole

Wide shots are kept full-frame instead of sliced into a vertical strip, so the warehouse aisle, the kitchen pass or the team at their desks stays recognisable. A candidate is looking at where they would work as much as at who is speaking.

A session costs its length, not its clips

A 45-minute session costs 45 credits whether you export 3 shorts or 20. The 30 credits given at signup cover a first recording of up to 30 minutes; Starter is 12 EUR a month for 480 credits, ten 45-minute sessions, and Creator is 29 EUR for 1,600.

How it works for recruiting videos

Five steps. About two minutes of your time; the processing itself runs on our servers and depends on the length of the video.

  1. 01Drop the recording from the filming day, MP4, MOV or WebM, up to 2 GB
  2. 02Ask for 8 to 10 clips of 30 to 40 seconds, at least one for each person you filmed
  3. 03The AI reads the transcript and keeps the answers that stand without the question
  4. 04Each employee holds the 9:16 crop while they speak, office and workshop shots stay full
  5. 05Download the 1080 x 1920 MP4s and put the right one under each open role

Suggested captions: Minimal. A candidate is deciding whether the person on screen sounds honest. Minimal keeps plain readable text and nothing that turns a colleague into an advert.

Questions people ask

How do I turn our recruiting videos into short clips?

Upload the recording, up to 2 GB in MP4, MOV or WebM, then pick how many clips you want, from 1 to 20, and how long each should run, from 15 to 90 seconds. shortshort transcribes the video, keeps the passages that form complete answers, crops to 9:16 on the person answering, times every caption word on the audio and exports at 30 fps. Each short is an MP4 you can upload to LinkedIn as a native video, in 9:16 at 1080 x 1920 or 4:5 at 1080 x 1350, and the 9:16 file also goes to YouTube Shorts, TikTok and Reels.

We filmed six employees in one afternoon. Should we upload one file or six?

One file works: a single upload holds up to 2 GB, is billed on its length alone, 45 credits for 45 minutes however many clips you ask for, and the framing cuts cleanly when the shot changes. Upload one file per person when you want a guaranteed number of clips for each of them, because the ceiling per video is 3 shorts on the free tier, 5 on Starter, 10 on Creator and 20 on the Studio plan.

How long should an employee testimonial clip be?

Thirty to forty seconds is enough for one complete answer, which is why the example on this page runs at 35. The range allowed is 15 to 90 seconds, and the AI may finish up to 25% away from your target so the last sentence is complete.

Will our employees appear in a public gallery?

Only if you export one without turning that off. An exported short is published to the community gallery by default, next to the source recording; every paid plan, from 12 EUR a month, has one setting that keeps your videos out of it, the shorts already exported as well as the next ones. Sources and drafts you never export stay in your own projects. Either way, tell the people you film where the clips will end up before the camera is on.

Can the captions carry our brand colour and font?

Yes. The accent colour and the caption font are set per video, by anyone, and the Studio plan at 79 EUR a month saves them as a brand preset, preselected on every new video. There are four styles to choose from, spotlight, impact, karaoke and minimal, each timed word by word on the audio; minimal is the one that sits closest to a careers page.

Can I post these clips on LinkedIn?

Yes. Download the MP4 and upload it from your LinkedIn profile or company page; shortshort does not post to LinkedIn for you.

A 45-minute filming session with six employees, 10 shorts, one upload, from the Creator plan.

Free to try with 30 credits and up to 3 shorts per video. Your upload stays private until you export; exported shorts join the community with their source video by default, and any paid plan can keep them out.
