AI CLIP MAKER

Make clips from a video with AI.

shortshort is one studio, and this is the part of it that does the choosing: the AI listens to the entire file, reads the transcript sentence by sentence and marks the passages worth a short. There is no score telling you what will perform; you get complete quotes, a title for each, and the final say.

It reads everything, not a sample

The whole file is transcribed word by word and watched with its sound before a single passage is chosen, up to 3 hours of it in one pass.

A clip is a quote, not a window of time

Each proposal opens at the start of a sentence and closes at its end, allowed to drift 25% from the length you set: 22.5 to 37.5 seconds for a 30-second target.

Nothing is burned in until you say so

A proposal is an edit, not a file. Bounds, zooms between x1.0 and x1.6, caption style and title can all be changed, and rendering only happens when you ask.

How to do it

Four steps. About two minutes of your time.

  1. 01Sign in, since the analysis needs an account and a new one has 60 credits, then upload a video you own, up to 2 GB and 3 hours
  2. 02Tell the AI how many clips to look for and roughly how long each should be
  3. 03Read the proposals, each with its title and transcript excerpt, and adjust or discard any of them
  4. 04Export the ones you keep as separate 1080 x 1920 MP4s

What this page does not promise

No prediction of how a clip will perform: the selection is based on whether a passage stands alone, and you decide which ones to post.

No automatic B-roll, background music or on-screen titles added to the clips: what is in the source is what appears in the short.

No YouTube or Vimeo link in the upload box: the AI works on a file from your disk, and the file has to be one you own.

Questions people ask

What does the AI actually look at when it picks a clip?

The full transcript and the audio track together. It keeps passages that begin and end on their own, which usually means an answer, a claim or an example, and rejects anything that would start or stop mid-thought. There is no popularity model behind the choice.

Can I change a clip the AI proposed?

Yes, everything about it: move the start and end, edit the framing keyframes, change or lock a zoom, switch the caption style among Spotlight, Impact, Karaoke and Minimal, and rewrite the title. The short is rendered only after you are done.

How many clips can it make from one video?

Between 1 and 20, and each uses a distinct passage. The ceiling depends on the shortshort plan: 3 shorts per video on Free, 5 on Starter, 10 on Creator and 20 on Studio.

Does the AI need an account?

Yes. The analysis runs on an account, and a new one comes with 60 credits, enough for a 60-minute video, with no card asked. The manual editor works without signing in.

Is the same AI used on every tool page of this site?

Yes. Every page under /tools describes the same shortshort studio; the pages differ by the kind of video and the question they answer, not by the software behind them.

Does it clean the audio or remove filler words?

No. The audio is left as recorded, and silences and filler words stay in the clip unless you trim the bounds yourself.

A 52-minute conference session on Creator, 8 shorts, one drop.

Free to try with 60 credits. Your source video stays yours; the shorts you export join the community, and a plan keeps them out of it.
