Credits pay for the AI analysis only: editing and exporting your shorts cost no credits, and the MP4 export needs a free account. With an account, generation and rendering run on our servers on every plan: once the upload finishes you can close the tab and come back to finished shorts.

What is a credit?
One minute of source video sent to the AI: transcription, choice of complete sentences, framing on the face on screen and word-by-word captions. A 56-minute talk costs 56 credits however many shorts you ask for.
Is shortshort free?
Yes, to try. Every account starts with 30 welcome credits, given once (30 minutes of video), with up to 3 shorts per video, a small watermark on the export (a shortshort.io badge in the top corner and a 1.5-second credit at the end, within the same length), and each exported short published in the public community with its source video. Paid plans remove the watermark and let you keep your shorts out of the community with one account setting.
Is there a free plan without a watermark?
No. Every export on the Free plan carries the watermark: a shortshort.io badge in the top corner and a 1.5-second credit at the end. Starter, at €12 a month before VAT, removes it from every export, with 480 credits a month (8 hours of video): €0.025 per minute of video billed monthly, €0.02 billed yearly, before VAT. Every paid plan removes it.
How much does shortshort cost?
Three plans, prices excluding VAT. Starter: €12 a month, 480 credits (8 hours of video), up to 5 shorts per video. Creator: €29 a month, 1,600 credits (26 h 40 of video), up to 10 shorts per video. Studio: €79 a month, 6,000 credits (100 hours of video), up to 20 shorts per video. Paid yearly: Starter €115, Creator €278, Studio €758, 20% less.
What does a minute of video cost?
From about €0.013 per minute of source video on the Studio plan to €0.025 on Starter, billed monthly and before VAT, however many shorts you ask for; billed yearly, €0.011 to €0.02. Top-ups cost €0.017 to €0.023 per minute.
What happens to unused credits?
They roll over. Credits never expire: unused monthly credits stay on your balance from one period to the next, and top-up and welcome credits are spent only once the monthly ones are gone.
What if I run out?
Editing and exporting the shorts you already have costs nothing. On the Free plan, new analyses need a paid plan once the 30 welcome credits are spent; on a paid plan they wait for your next monthly credits, and the Creator and Studio plans can add a top-up right away.
Is the studio the same as the Studio plan?
No. The studio is the app every plan uses, the Free plan included; the Studio plan is the €79 a month tier, before VAT. The AI analysis, the editor and the MP4 export work on every plan, starting with a free account.
Is publishing to YouTube included?
Yes, on every plan, the Free plan included: connect a YouTube channel on the Publish page and schedule your exported shorts, one by one or on a calendar filled for you. Publishing costs no credits. Free-plan shorts go out with their watermark, like every Free export. Publishing to TikTok is in early access and not open to every account yet, and Instagram is not connected: you download the MP4 and post it yourself.
Can I change plan?
Yes, on request: plan changes are not self-service yet, so write to the address on the terms page and it is done for you. Moving up charges only the difference for the rest of the period and adds the credits it pays for; moving down or cancelling never removes credits you already hold. Top-up credits follow you.
