What this page does not promise
Audio-only episodes are not accepted: shortshort needs a video file, so an audio podcast has to be exported with a static image or waveform first.
No music bed, no automatic B-roll and no episode artwork added: the clip shows what the camera recorded.
No promise about who is in the crop: it is placed on the face on screen and moves with it, and a keyframe you want elsewhere is moved or locked by hand in the studio.
Questions people ask
Does it work with a remote recording where the guest is in a separate window?
A remote recording is accepted like any other file, as long as it is one video. The crop is placed on the face on screen and moves with it, scene detection resets it when the recording cuts to another shot, and a wide shot is kept full-frame. Open the framing keyframes in the studio to see where the crop sits on that recording: each one can be moved or locked by hand if it is not where you want it.
How long can an episode be?
Up to 3 hours and 2 GB per file. Episodes of 60 to 120 minutes fit without any change; a file over 2 GB needs re-exporting at a lower bitrate.
What if my podcast is audio only?
Make a video from it first: a still image or a waveform over the audio, exported as MP4. The transcription, the clip selection and the word-timed captions work identically on that file.
What caption style suits a podcast?
Spotlight is the default: uppercase words with the one being spoken highlighted in turn. Karaoke, Impact and Minimal complete the four styles, and any of them can be swapped in per video.
Do listeners see the whole episode when a clip is published?
If you publish to the community, yes: the clip's page shows the short, the full source video and the transcript, and search engines can index it. On any paid plan you can keep an episode out of the community, or withdraw one clip at a time.
Is this a different product from the rest of shortshort?
