Rendering happens in a recent Chrome with the tab kept open. On Creator and Studio you can hand it to the server instead and close the tab; the finished shorts wait in your library.
No account for the manual path
Open the shortshort studio, load a file, set the bounds and the frame yourself, and download the MP4. Signing up is only required for the AI step, which transcribes the video and proposes the shorts.
What the editor does not do
There is no track for adding music, B-roll or animated titles, no silence or filler-word removal and no audio cleaning. The output is one 9:16 MP4 per short; there is no compilation of several shorts into one file.

Questions people ask
Can I use the editor without creating an account?
Yes. Manual editing and MP4 export in the shortshort studio work without signing in. Only the AI analysis, the transcription and the proposed shorts, needs an account, and every new account gets 60 free credits without a card.
What can I change on a short the AI proposed?
The bounds of the clip, every framing keyframe, the zooms, the caption style and the title. A render only starts when you click it, so you can go through all the proposals and fix them first, then render the ones you keep.
Does the render need my computer, or can it run in the background?
By default it runs in the browser: a recent Chrome, with the tab left open until the file is ready. On the Creator plan (29 EUR per month) and the Studio plan (79 EUR per month) the render can run on the server instead, so you can close the tab and come back.
Can I download all the shorts at once?
No. Each MP4 is downloaded on its own; there is no ZIP of a whole batch. Shorts cut from the same video share one source file and stay grouped together in the library, which makes them easy to find again.
Does the editor publish to TikTok or YouTube?
No. shortshort has no direct publishing and no social calendar. You download the MP4 and post it yourself on TikTok, YouTube Shorts, Instagram Reels or anywhere else that takes a 1080 x 1920 vertical video.
Is the editor a different product from the AI clip maker?
No. It is the same shortshort studio. The AI step proposes shorts, and the editor is the page where they land. Cut a video by hand and skip the AI, or let the AI propose and then edit: both end with the same MP4 export.
