What this page does not promise
What the search term usually implies, and the studio does not do.
Nothing happens live: the studio works on the recording after the stream ends, not on the running broadcast.
No link import from Twitch or Kick: their recordings have to be downloaded as a file and uploaded; a YouTube VOD can be pasted as a link.
No chat or reaction detection: the selection reads the transcript, not the chat log or the viewer count, so a moment that was big for the chat but silent on the mic is not proposed.

Questions people ask
Can it clip while I am streaming?
No. shortshort needs the finished recording: it transcribes the whole file first and only then selects passages. Download the VOD when the stream ends and upload that.
My streams run four hours. What do I do?
Split it into two files of about two hours, each under 2 GB: at 1080p a four-hour recording is usually well over 2 GB, and a lower bitrate or resolution also brings a file down. Each file is one upload and costs 1 credit per minute; a four-hour stream is 240 credits in all.
Will a chat overlay confuse the crop?
The 9:16 crop is placed on your face when the camera is on screen and moves with it; scene detection resets it when the recording cuts, and a slide, a shared screen or a wide shot is kept whole. Framing is automatic and has no manual override, so on a busy layout with a chat column or a game capture, check the preview before you render.
How much of my time does a long VOD take?
Your part is the settings and the review of the proposals; the transcription and the selection run without you. With an account, generation and rendering run on our servers on every plan, so a long VOD does not tie up your browser: once the upload finishes you can close the tab.
Are streams with music a problem?
The audio is exported as recorded; there is no cleaning, no music removal and no re-mix, so whatever was in the stream is in the clip.
Is the livestream clip maker its own product?
No. Streamers reach the shortshort studio through this page, and nothing here is a separate build: a VOD goes through the same 2 GB upload limit, the same 1 credit per minute and the same MP4 export, in 9:16 or 4:5, as a podcast or a webinar does.
