What this page does not promise
Nothing happens live: the studio works on the recording after the stream ends, not on the running broadcast.
No link import from Twitch, YouTube or Kick: the recording has to be downloaded as a file and uploaded.
No chat or reaction detection: the selection reads the transcript, not the chat log or the viewer count, so a moment that was big for the chat but silent on the mic is not proposed.
Questions people ask
Can it clip while I am streaming?
No. shortshort needs the finished recording: it transcribes the whole file first and only then selects passages. Download the VOD when the stream ends and upload that.
My streams run four hours. What do I do?
Split the recording into two files under 3 hours and 2 GB each. Each file is one upload and costs 1 credit per minute; a four-hour stream is 240 credits across the two.
Will a chat overlay confuse the crop?
The 9:16 crop is placed on your face when the camera is on screen and moves with it; scene detection resets it when the recording cuts, and a slide, a shared screen or a wide shot is kept whole. Every keyframe stays editable and lockable in the shortshort studio, so on a busy layout with a chat column or a game capture, check them and drag back any crop that landed in the wrong place.
How much of my time does a long VOD take?
Your part is the settings and the review of the proposals; the transcription and the selection run without you. On Creator and Studio the generation can run on the server in the background, so a long VOD does not tie up your browser; on Free and Starter the Chrome tab stays open while a short renders.
Are streams with music a problem?
The audio is exported as recorded; there is no cleaning, no music removal and no re-mix, so whatever was in the stream is in the clip.
